J.J. Pearce Class of 1986
40th Reunion Weekend

October 23–25, 2026

Version Updated August 26, 2026

We’ve got a full reunion weekend taking shape, with plenty of ways to reconnect. Our Main Event is Saturday night. Be sure to plan on attending that evening along with as many of the other events you would like. Here’s what is planned so far, along with what we need from you to help us get the details right.

Please register early! It will help us plan venues, food, staffing and all the other details that go into making this a great weekend.  Attendance for these events can also be viral. When people see lots of their classmates have registered, it makes them more excited to jump on the train.  Significant others are encouraged but not required.   The Main Event early-bird pricing is $95 per person through September 24. Also, please consider making a donation through the registration form. This donation will help cover the costs for our awesome teachers to attend, as well as those classmates who might otherwise be financially prohibited from being there to celebrate with us!

Friday, October 23

Kickoff Event | 7–11 pm

Oak Highlands Brewery

500 Lockwood Dr.

Richardson, TX 75080

  • We’ll have a private room, with the possibility of moving into the full taproom depending on our numbers.
  • Cash bar, with a food truck available in the parking lot.  In addition, you are allowed to bring in food or have it delivered.  In fact, two of OHB’s neighbors (Lockwood Distillery & Las Lomas) have table top menus in the brewery and they deliver.
  • JJP ’88’s Scott Schults and his band Great Scott will be playing tunes.
  • Friday admission is included with your Saturday Main Event ticket. If you cannot attend our Main Event, the cost for Friday only is $20 per person.
  • Friday night is the more open event. In addition to classmates, significant others and faculty, friends from nearby graduating classes and nearby high schools are welcome.
  • Advance registration and payment are encouraged so we can help the brewery plan staffing. Payment at the door will be accepted subject to capacity.
  • Prepaid football tickets can also be picked up here. The brewery is only about 2 miles from the stadium, straight down Belt Line.

YOUR ACTION: Register in advance if you plan to join us on Friday. If you are buying a Saturday Main Event ticket, your Friday admission is already included.

Homecoming Football | 7 pm

Eagle-Mustang Stadium

1250 W Belt Line Rd

Richardson, TX 75080

Richardson Eagles at Pearce Mustangs
We’ll rope off a section based on the number of classmates who register.

  • Three ways to buy tickets:
  • General admission game tickets can be purchased when you register for our reunion.  $6 each
  • If you prefer to buy at the stadium, that is fine, but please register your intent when you sign up for the reunion so we can estimate the attendance and plan the space we need to rope off at the game
  • Starting October 19th, you can buy online at
    https://brushfire.com/richardsonisd/pearce-high-school/631945/details

Again, please register your intent to buy a ticket when you register for the reunion so we can save you space in the bleachers

  • Concessions will of course be available
  • There is also the opportunity for you to buy a ticket to eat at the Porch on the upper level.  For $25 you can eat a catered buffet arranged by the Pearce Athletic Booster Club.  You need to buy these passes in advance at the booster club website. You will need to set up an account, but here is the link
    https://www.pearceathletics.org/packet/137056
Dinner starts 15 minutes before kickoff and runs through halftime.  Drinks and desserts served until the end of the game. Our classmate Lisa Outland is planning to eat at the Porch.  If you are interested in dining at the Porch, please buy your pass ASAP.  They will sell out as it is a shared space for the families of the current students.

YOUR ACTION: Let us know if you plan to attend the game so we can size the reserved section. If you prepaid for a football ticket, you can pick it up at Oak Highlands Brewery.  If you are planning to eat at the Porch, buy a ticket ASAP.

Homecoming Pep Rally | Friday morning

J.J. Pearce High School
1600 N. Coit Rd

Richardson, TX 75080

We’re waiting on details and will share more when we have them.

YOUR ACTION: For now, just indicate your interest so we know who may want to attend.

Saturday, October 24

School Tour | 9–11 am

J.J. Pearce High School
1600 N. Coit Rd

Richardson, TX 75080

The school has been completely transformed over the years. Come check it out! Assistant Principal John Wing will lead the tour.

  • A deaf interpreter will be provided.
  • The tour is intended for classmates and significant others. We have also invited other deaf Pearce graduates since we will have an interpreter.
  • There is no cost to attend. We would like to pass the hat a bit at the end so we can thank John Wing with a gift card.

YOUR ACTION: Sign up for the school tour so we have a good headcount. If you’d like, bring a few dollars to contribute toward John Wing’s thank-you gift.

Small Group Lunches | Approximately noon–2 pm   *HOSTS/ORGANIZERS NEEDED*

One big reunion is great, but sometimes the best catching up happens around a smaller table. We’d like to encourage affinity groups to organize lunches at venues around the area. We’re looking for “hosts” who can pick a venue, rally their group and help coordinate attendance. If you want to host at your home, go for it. Hosts can decide whether their lunch is limited to classmates/significant others/faculty or opened up to nearby graduating classes. Please let us know if you would can host one of these lunches!

Current groups include:

  • Academic Decathlon — Steve Tagtmeier will host the AcDec team and open it to all graduating classes and, of course, coaches.
  • Women’s soccer — hosted by Teri Harper.  It will be at The Truckyard 740 S Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080.  It will be open to friends of the team including players a little older/younger, trainers, supporting parents, etc.
  • Pacesetters — hosted by Mellie (Goolsby) Duncan and Michele (Duvall) Sumerall.
  • Mighty Mustang Band, Drum Corp and Flag Corp — hosted by Gillian Grant.
  • Cross country/track — host needed.
  • Choir/Forte — host needed.
  • Everyone else — Lila Levy will host a lunch for classmates/significant others who aren’t joining one of the groups above.

YOUR ACTION: Choose the lunch group you’d like to join. If your group needs a host, please volunteer. If your affinity group isn’t listed and you’d like to organize one, let us know and we’ll add it.

Pickleball | 3–5 pm

At Fault

2330 Jett St.

Farmers Branch, TX 75234

  • We’ll rent a couple of courts for group play.  Deb Bailey Greaves is on point
  • If we have enough players, we’ll try to split play by level/DUPR.
  • At Fault has a full bar, so non-players are absolutely encouraged to come as spectators, cheerleaders and trash talkers.
  • $10 per player.

YOUR ACTION: Register whether you plan to play or just come hang out. We need a headcount for both players and spectators.

MAIN EVENT | 7–11 pm

Venue Forty50

4050 Belt Line Rd

Addison, TX 75001

  • Buffet dinner and DJ.
  • Suggested attire is cocktail
  • Photography by classmate Helge Alsguth, plus a system for everyone to share candid photos and selfies.
  • Complimentary water and unsweet tea.
  • Bar tickets are required for other beverages: soda $4, beer $6, wine $8, and mixed drinks or batched margaritas/cosmopolitans $11. Tickets can be purchased on site or added to your registration.
  • This event is intended for classmates, significant others and faculty.

Ticket deadlines matter:

  • Early bird: $95 per person through September 24. This includes Friday night admission at Oak Highlands Brewery.
  • September 25–October 14: $115 per person.
  • Online sales close October 14 because we have to give the caterer our final headcount.
  • Requests after October 14, including at the door, will only be possible if the caterer can accommodate us.

We’ve been able to keep pricing down in part because of very generous discounts from the venue owners, classmate Holly Ricker Kerr and her husband Todd.

YOUR ACTION: Buy your Main Event ticket by September 24 for the $95 early-bird price. At the latest, register by October 14. You can also pre-purchase bar tickets with your registration.

Sunday, October 25

Informal Brunch | Approximately 10 am–noon/1 pm

We’d love one last easy chance to gather before everyone heads home. Think bagels, breakfast tacos, lots of coffee and a come-and-go-as-you-please morning. A place with mimosas and Bloody Marys would be a plus. The venue is still TBD and will depend in part on how many people are interested.

YOUR ACTION: Tell us if you would join Sunday brunch. A headcount will help us choose the right venue, and venue ideas are welcome.

Still Taking Shape

Golf

Golf wasn’t included in our original poll, so we’re not sure how much interest there is. We’ll ask about several possible windows: Friday morning, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Where we see critical mass, we’ll figure out a course and tee time.

YOUR ACTION: If you want to golf, indicate every time window that could work for you. That gives us the best chance of putting together a group.

Hotels & Hosting Out-of-Town Classmates

We haven’t created a hotel block yet. Addison has lots of hotel options, and if enough people want a block, we can certainly look into one. We’d also love to know if any local classmates are willing to offer a spare room to an out-of-town classmate. It’s a great way to make the trip more economical and get some bonus time together.

YOUR ACTION: If you’d use a reunion hotel block, tell us. If you’re local and willing to host a classmate, let us know that too.

A Note on Getting Around

We’ve tried to keep everything in a pretty tight radius to minimize drive time. Oak Highlands Brewery is only about 2 miles from the football stadium. On Saturday, At Fault is about 5 miles from Venue Forty50. Venue Forty50 is in Addison, with plenty of nearby hotels and lunch options.  Map link below should give you a feel for the total logistics for the weekend

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1Kfbg95YkJxXe3Cwx4q4ihQG-B-2QGBY&usp=sharing

Donations

As mentioned above, we have a section in the registration “Pay it Forward” to make an optional donation as we want to fund the weekend events for our beloved faculty, and we want to offer registration to those classmates for whom this is a financial burden.  We are also planning to hire some American Sign Language interpreters to make this event accessible to our deaf classmates.

Sponsorship

We have no intention of making this an overly commercial event. That said, if you want to promote your business or just do something fun for the group, please consider sponsoring something.  Some ideas:

  • The Sunday informal brunch
  • Some sweet treats for after the buffet dinner on Saturday (the buffet does not include dessert)
  • Some snacks at the Friday Kickoff
  • A round of drinks on either Friday or Saturday (note: no shots at the venue on Saturday)
  • Lanyards for nametags
  • Other swag
  • One of the small group lunches
  • Coffee/donuts at the school tour
